Overview

The Rongai Route is one of the many routes to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. It is known for its remote and less crowded nature, providing a more tranqui climb compared to some of the other popular routes.

The Rongai Route starts on the northern side of Mount Kilimanjaro and approaches the mountain from the east. It offers a unique perspective of the mountain and passes through diverse landscapes including open grassy moorlands, alpine desert, and stunning views of Mawenzi Peak.

The route typically takes about 6-7 days to complete, allowing for proper acclimatization and increasing your chances of successfully reaching the summit. The starting point for the Rongai Route is on the edge of the village of Nale Moru, located around 69 kilometers from Moshi.

Throughout the trek, climbers will be accompanied by experienced guides, porters, and a cook who will provide meals and support along the way. The route is considered to be moderately difficult, with steep sections and challenging terrain.
