Overview

The Lemosho Route stands among the seven primary paths for ascending Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, renowned for its scenic beauty and lower congestion, making it a favored choice for many climbers.

Distinguished by its diverse landscapes, the Lemosho Route commences in the rainforest, gradually ascending through moorland, alpine desert, and culminating at the summit. Offering panoramic vistas of the Shira Plateau and the Western Breach, this route captivates adventurers with its stunning scenery.

Typically spanning 7 to 8 days, the route facilitates adequate acclimatization, enhancing the likelihood of a successful summit. While recognized as challenging, its extended duration and gradual ascent contribute to its high success rate.

Commencing at the Londorossi Gate on the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro, trekkers embark on a journey through the rainforest to the initial campsite at Mti Mkubwa. The route proceeds through various campsites, including Shira 1, Shira 2, Barranco, Karanga, Barafu, culminating at Uhuru Peak, the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Day by Day Itinerary

After breakfast, drive to the Lemosho Gate, where you will complete the necessary registration formalities. Begin the trek through the lush rainforest, ascending gradually. Arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp for dinner and overnight stay.
